Laser & Printing Fume Extraction Systems
Our laser and printer fume extraction systems use advanced filtration to remove harmful fumes and vapours from the environment as they are generated but before they can be breathed in by the operator, thus protecting them from the health risks.
Lasers are now an essential tool in many industries for cutting, marking engraving and welding a vast range of materials, including wood, metal, and PVC.
In virtually all of these processes, a fume of the vaporized material is given off, as the laser thermally decomposes the substrate it is being used on to a greater or lesser degree, posing a potentially serious risk to the operator. As a result, more and more people are being exposed to Laser Generated Airborne Contaminants (LGAC).
Most of these LGACs are solid matter with particulate sizes being less than 1µm. These particles fall within the respiratory range and can easily be breathed deep into the lungs to cause potentially serious health issues.
Laser printers, or Dye-sublimation printers, provide accessible, high speed, on-demanding digital printing in many industries and applications such as textiles, items like mobile phone cases, mugs, photographs, medical imaging and more.
Dye-sub printers use the process of sublimation, in which heat and pressure are applied to a solid (the ink) and rapidly heats the ink from solid into a gaseous state. This effectively “transfers” the dye on the molecular level to the substrate.
This process releases gases, vapours and moisture into the air and these can pose a health risk to the printer operators if they are breathed in.
In both cases, our range of laser and printing fume extraction systems can help keep your workplace safe for you and your employees.
