Following their industry renowned ‘Company of the Month’ feature in issue 244 earlier this year, Vodex Ltd has continued to grow and develop as a key supplier to so many manufacturing industries, and as a result has now scooped the highly acclaimed ‘Company of the Year’ Award.
Southampton-based Vodex Ltd has become one of the UK’s leading specialists in the supply and installation of dust and fume extraction products.
Paul Riddick, Technical Sales Director of Vodex explained: “We cater for a wide range of industries including Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Dental, Beauty and Education and supply a variety of both small businesses and large high-end blue-chip companies.
Despite the current climate, our sales have increased by an average of over 28% on this time last year. Our customers still consider Health and Safety products to be a wise investment and many of our end users are still putting operator and employee protection at the top of their shopping list. This, along with the UK Health and Safety Executive constantly monitoring and advising stricter controls on hazardous processes within manufacturing industries has also helped to grow the business.”
Vodex constantly strives to raise awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace and spends a lot of time promoting products within the Hair and Beauty Industry, giving talks and writing articles about the dangers of exposure to health care workers and salon owners.
Paul said: “It is a sad fact that many Nail and Hair Salons are still using chemicals and inhaling dust every day without proper extraction systems. We are not talking about using a low cost fan bought on eBay or opening a window as these do very little to filter the fumes and dust. The products in our Pure Beauty range are industrial grade professional extraction systems as used in training colleges and high end salons where the health of staff and customers is taken seriously. Many salons who invest in our equipment see an improved air quality and increase in clients and sales. Many customers who visit salons with no extraction systems complain of headaches and nausea and would rather choose a salon that had client protection over those that don’t.” – Food for thought?
