An Anti-Static wrist band, or grounding bracelet is a device worn by operators to prevent a build-up of static charge that can damage static sensitive components. By connecting the operator to a common ground point – always with a 1 Meg resistor to protect the operator, the static charges are dissipated via the connecting curly cord. Anti Allergenic bands are very popular as they are great value and have no metal plate in contact with the skin, only the silver threads in the band make contact, making these very comfortable.
