    There is a serious need for extraction systems in the printing industry. Printing inks, lacquers, adhesives, cleaning solvents can pose a risk to your health. Some products, like UV inks and laminating adhesives, can cause asthma.

    If not extracted, solvent vapours can make you dizzy, drowsy, affect your central nervous system and can cause damage to internal organs over long periods of exposure. Corrosive acids and alkalis in plate developers can cause skin burns and eye damage.

    These risks aren’t limited to paper printing. Many 3D printers also produce ultra-fine emissions which can also pose a health risk. Some 3D printers use ABS filaments, which are considered riskier to health than PLA filaments.

    Nylon filaments can also emit a water-soluble compound used to produce a type of nylon, which can lead to irritation to the eyes and respiratory system and long term, may cause problems to the central nervous system. These require specialised 3D printing extraction systems.
