At VODEX, our entire business is dedicated to helping solve the problems of potentially dangerous airborne contaminates in the workplace, and protecting people from the impacts of potentially damaging lung diseases like COPD, asthma and workplace-caused cancer.
In our mission to improve workplace air quality, we’ve partnered with many prestigious companies set on the very same goal. And, as a family-run business, we’re delighted to offer products from BOFA – whose background is really very similar to our own!
About BOFA extraction solutions
BOFA began in 1987 ran by a single family, and has grown into a leading provider of extraction technology that’s used and recognised the world over.
The brand is headquartered in the UK, where is offers fabrication, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and corporate operations. However, to give some idea of the company’s reach, BOFA also has offices in the USA and Germany, where it offers design, manufacturing, distribution, warehousing and tech support.
Together, these locations sell into over 120 countries worldwide, offering market-leading local exhaust ventilation systems that allow businesses to comply with local safety laws – like the UK’s Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) legislation.
Featured BOFA Products
Among BOFA’s long list of industry-certified safety solutions, we wanted to highlight three in particular that we’re proud to offer to our customers.
BOFA AD Oracle iQ Extraction Unit
Industry: Laser printing
Application: Laser and printing fume extraction
One of the leading extraction units in the laser printing industry, the BOFA AD Oracle IQ mixes the high-power suction of the AD Oracle with BOFA’s IQ operating system – all in one compact unit.
The big benefit of the IQ is that it makes using the unit even easier, while giving the operator access to an incredible array of real-time information – allowing them to download details about the system’s performance for ongoing evaluation. Meanwhile, the unit’s auto-voltage sensing pump and reverse flow filter technology mean it can run on any voltage worldwide, and assure long filter life – minimising replacement filter costs.
All of this means that for those in the laser industry, the AD Oracle IQ is the go-to for keeping operators safe from laser-created fumes.
BOFA DustPRO 400 Extraction System
Industries: Jewellery, dental labs, engineering
Applications: PCB cutting, drilling, linishing (excluding aluminium), CNC marking or routing, light powder dispensing, tool cleaning, and more.
Developed for safe removal of dust, swarf, shavings and other similarly fine particulates, the BOFA DustPRO 400 is especially suited to extraction in engineering environments, as well as jewellery workshops and dental settings.
Producing 400 m3/hr of airflow at a pressure of 96 mbar in what is in fact a surprisingly compact unit, the DustPRO’s brushless pumps (an unusual feature for an extractor of this type) generate incredibly high vacuums and can run for up to 30,000 hours before servicing. The large F8 filter bag and included HEPA filter are together capable of capturing 99.97% of particulates down to 0.3 microns.
BOFA FumeKART Mobile Extraction System
Industries: Engineering, art restoration, studio production
Applications: Solder fume extraction, Hand soldering extraction, Jewellery fume extraction, Restoration (extracting mould spores), Adhesive, potting and dipping Fumes, extraction of non-combustible vapours and gases
Highly portable and immensely versatile, the BOFA FumeKART is especially well suited to artistic endeavours but can also be used for engineering extraction purposes.
Designed to protect workers from dusts, mould spores and solvent vapours amongst other potentially harmful pollutants, the unit’s high-grade extraction arm makes it suitable for many uses, while the wheeled carriage means you can place it anywhere you need local exhaust ventilation.
Inside, the FumeKART combines a pre-filter and combined filter with HEPA and deep bed carbon sections, giving the unit 99.97 filtration efficiency down to 0.3 microns that will also catch fine fumes and vapours.
Available with a 75mm or 100mm arm, you can pick the FumeKART that suits your needs, knowing that both models will help to make your studio or workspace HSE and COSHH compliant.
